Deepa Kumar is a professor of Media Studies at Rutgers University. She is the author, most recently, of Islamophobia and the Politics of Empire. A second and completely revised edition titled Islamophobia and the Politics of Empire: 20 Years After 9/11 (2021) is forthcoming from Verso.
