The Illiberalism and Environment Initiative focuses on the intersection of global climate change and politics. In addition to studying macro-level debates over climate politics, it explores themes ranging from liberal and progressive environmentalism to far-right environmentalism, ecofascism, deep ecology, small-c conservative conservationism, climate change denialism and delayism, climate populism, and left-wing climate politics spanning from green productivism to degrowth communism. The series seeks to dialogue with existing pieces of literature on concepts like populism, illiberalism, liberalism, and neoliberalism, studying how these phenomena connect to environmental politics and the ideological tendencies described above.
